Childcare

I’ve seen a lot of posts in other groups on this app asking what is a reasonable amount of money to pay for x hours x days a week.

Poll question: do you think childcare workers (nanny, babysitter, daycare employee) are less deserving of a living wage than other working individuals?

Based on the responses to these posts it seems like many people do. I’ve seen people post things like, I pay my babysitter $20/day?!?! Wtf? So you’re paying the person taking care of your child less than minimum wage and you think that’s ok? Yes, I get it, childcare is expensive, but that’s because it is work, hard work and I believe the people who do these jobs should be paid fairly. It seems my opinion is unpopular though so I wanted to get CC’s opinion.
