When did you find out you were having multiples?

I went in today for my first ultrasound. I’m 4 weeks and 6 days. We saw one sack and there were two corpus lutheum meaning I ovulated 2 eggs. They said to go back in 10 days to see if there are two or just one and hear the heart beat. Do you think it’s possible to just see one sack and then have 2? Did this happen to anyone?

I’m not a pro, but I just had identical twins. We didn’t know until our 11 week ultrasound.
I think one sack would mean mono mono twins - super rare and the most high risk. This option would mean one egg split into two different embryos a little later than a mono di twin pair. But ovulating two eggs would mean di di twins. two placentas and two sacks clearly separated and in different areas of the ultrasound. Di di twins need each egg to be fertilized separately.
Again, I’m not an expert, but did way too much reading about this. I had mono di twins.

We saw two sacs at 4 weeks 6 days. Although I have heard other women who did not see both that early and ended up with twins.

I had a loss back in April so they did a scan when we thought I was 6.5 weeks we only saw one sack then I got one last week we thought I was 8.5 weeks but babies were discovered and measuring out 6.5 weeks. Going to get a scan next week to see about placenta and jazz

4 weeks is pretty early.  I had an ultrasound at 7 weeks because of bleeding and the doctor only saw 1 heartbeat.  At my 9 week ultrasound it was very obvious there were 2 babies.  They were didi so the second baby must have been hiding behind the first at 6 weeks.  They are so small At that time I think it can be easy to miss one.

Just because you ovulated twice doesn’t mean you’ll have 2 babies - a lot of people have hyper-ovulation but both eggs then have to fertilised, implant, and the babies have to develop correctly. Twins are usually seen at the first ultrasound, but that’s usually at 6-7 weeks as not much can be seen before then, so it is possible that you could see another next time.
