Birth Control?

I’ll be 31 in May & I just had my second baby. This baby shop is CLOSED. My husband and I have been separated for 8 months, so I’m not having sex (& don’t plan to any time soon), but I’ve been thinking about birth control. I like the idea of shorter, lighter periods & possibly clearing up my acne, and of course never getting pregnant again! Problem is, I’ve never ever been on any birth control.

My doctor gave me some options, but really pushed the Mirena. I’m just not sure I’m comfortable with having a foreign object inside me for years, and I’ve heard horror stories about it. So then I was thinking about the pill, but am nervous about missing it since I’m terrible at remembering to take things. I’m also just generally scared of the side effects of any birth control—Weight gain, worse acne, hormone changes, ovarian cysts... etc.

So I want to hear your birth control choices & stories. The good, the bad & the ugly. Thanks! 😊
