Sister in law
My husband’s family is pretty dramatic. This week, our 7 month old got really sick with bronchitis (fever of 103, he’s been on antibiotics, breathing treatments, etc) and just quit running fever and feeling better yesterday. My husband’s grandmother’s birthday is tomorrow, and they’re having a party. My SIL has been posting all week on Facebook on how she’s had the crud and felt terrible, and has had to use throat lozenges, cough medicine, etc. I told my husband if she’s sick, it may be best if he go alone and my son and I stay home. I don’t want him catching something else on top of bronchitis. She was also wanting to come to our house to see our son, but I told my husband she didn’t need to come hold and kiss all over our son if she was still sick. I don’t know what exactly was said, but I guess she got all butt hurt and deleted me off Facebook and everything. Over that.
My husband said all he asked is if she was still sick, and when she asked why, he told her. I don’t think it’s mean or unreasonable not to want my 7 month old around someone who is sick, especially when he’s just getting well. How should I approach this conversation with her tomorrow?
