Anyone get their tubes tied right after giving birth?

From what i can see it looks like the easiest to do right after you give birth because the uterus is still enlarged. My doc told me he was already gonna do it for me im planning it right after my delivery. Im really looking forward to it because pregnancy is so hard on my body. I lost 2 babies suffered secondary infertility in between my first born and now this baby. Anyone else have their tubes tied right after delivering their baby? Or are planning to get it done? I just want to know your experiences with it.

I am. My husband and I talked about it and due to the nature of his job he can’t take the time off to recover from a vasectomy like I can with getting my tubes tied after birth since my mom will be here for a month to help out. My dr told me it takes 1-3 weeks of no heavy lifting and recovery isn’t easy but it’s not to terrible but he is a man and hasn’t done it lol.

I ended up in an unplanned c section anyway, but prior to that, the plan was to do it right after the vaginal birth with an epidural in place. He said that yes it's surgery, but not even close to as invasive or as difficult recovery-wise as a c section. If you do it immediately following the birth, you've already got the dr, anesthesia, iv etc in place vs doing it a few weeks after the birth.

I plan on getting it done after this pregnancy. Its also hard on my body. I was told that if I go into labor after March 23rd then as long as a doc from my obs office is there then I can get it done right at the hospital but if not then I'll have to go back in April and get it done. But I already have it scheduled and have all the info.

Are you having a c-section ? I am not getting my tubes tied bc they have to make an incision around your belly button or make a larger incision under it depending on what your having done. All of my births have been vaginal. And I rather not have surgery like that unless I have a c-section. Recovery is hard enough I rather not be in more pain than necessary. My husband will be getting a vasectomy, as we both find that most fair.

My doctor asked me if I wanted to tie my tubes and I am doing it as well. This will be my last one.
