Would you let people see your newborn if?

They weren't there during your pregnancy or helped you? I was watching a YouTube video and she refused to let anyone visit her baby who wasn't there in the beginning.

My husbands family hasn’t been active in our children’s lives at all. His sisters have never seen our girls and their almost 2. His mother saw them once when they were 2 months old and when she was up here she basically ruined any other chance of seeing them because of how she acted. I will not force my children to be around people who make no effort to be in their lives. They never text and ask how they are, they didn’t show up to their baby shower, or their first birthday, and I highly doubt that they will do anything when my next is born which is June. If they cared they would take an initiative. 
On the other spectrum are my family. My parents live 3 streets over and see the kids almost daily. My grandparents are in Florida until May and they FaceTime the girls weekly and always are sending diapers or wipes if we need them. That’s what a family is suppose to do I think. They make an effort and my girls will actually know who they are.

My SIL has been extremely uninvolved. It’s actually really sad that these are her nephews and she doesn’t seem to care. I’ll still let her see the babies because she’s family, but I doubt she’ll even try to form a relationship.

It depends on the situation. I'm 17 weeks and one of my sisters who lives in a different state then me hasn't said a word to me about my pregnancy, no congratulations or anything. If she continues to act like that I don't plan on having her be involved in my child's life. If people who you were close with changed their behavior with you once you got pregnant and not for another personal reason of theirs I would kick them to the curb for good.

Yeah, I would. I think things could change once the baby is born and if not, time will tell. My dad called my baby a fetus and hasn't been interested at all. It hurts but I'm still going to allow visits if he wants to. Meanwhile my mom and in-laws have been calling and already sending gifts. I can just tell they're always thinking about me and the baby. It's like night and day difference.
