Did he even love me?

Question

Can I ask your ladies’ opinion? 
I broke up with my boyfriend in a fit of rage.  It was a long time coming, and it had to happen. Believe me.
When I did, all he said to me was ‘okay. I never wanna see u or talk to u ever again.’ 
That’s it.
Don’t u think if he actually loved me ( like he said) and ACTUALLY had feelings for me, he would have tried a little harder to keep me?
Like, just to say ‘okay, bye.’ 
To me, that tells me he wasn’t too into the relationship in the first place. 
What do u guys think?

You said it was a long time coming which suggests the relationship was getting rocky? Sounds like you just did both of you a favour. Maybe he was in the same boat and knew it needed to end too but just didn’t wanna be the one to do it.

If someone would break up with me on a fit of rage, it sounds like a constant thing. Id be too tired of their shit to wantbto try to fight for them. And i wouldnt fight for someone who doesnt want me.

Well, I mean you weren't fighting to keep him either. 
I love my man with all I have, but if he wanted to leave I'd probably say the same shit to him. No sense fighting for someone who isn't committed to you, and if they are leaving they aren't committed... so, love them or not, what point is there to fighting to keep someone who doesn't want to stay?

I said the same thing to my ex when we broke up, and I definitely loved him. It’s easier to cut off the person that hurt you— especially when you’re upset. Doesn’t mean anything about his feelings. But even if it did, you broke up with him? Why are you worried about how he felt before?

If you broke up with him just because you were mad, he was probably fed up and said stuff out of anger too. But it’s hypocritical of you to assume he never loved you because he’s not chasing you after you broke up with him for little to no reason or for an irrational reason

Agree 110% with Elby. Especially if you’ve had the rocky conversations before. Only so many times you can talk about it before someone has to put the straw on the camel’s back. He did love you. And that’s exactly why it was simple to him. You both know you aren’t happy. To him, you said it as easily as you think he reacted to it.. if you know deep down this was a long time coming... accept it. Accept the transition because this feeling is fear. Fear that he never loved you. Doesn’t mean someone else won’t. Fear that it was easy for him to leave you. Not true. Simple does not mean easy. Fear that you made a mistake... you didn’t... sometimes you have to be selfish to be happy. You’re not only going to get through this but you will have a whole new insight on yourself. LEARN from this. Do not let this destroy you. Learn to be your own perfection to share. 💛

To be honest, if things had been rocky and someone broke up with me like that, I’d probably say the same- I’m not sure I’d want to see or talk to them.... even if I had loved them.
