Should Dinosaurs be protected under Animals Rights laws?

尺ㄖ

Hypothetical scenario inspired by Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom.

Consider: We live in a world where certain Dinosaur species were brought back for entertainment, and educational purposes. Previously, these species were held in parks, however, in recent years the parks that held the Dinosaurs have been destroyed, leaving Dinosaurs unconfined and free to venturing into the world around them.

Naturally, these animals are both extremely valuable but also a threat to our eco-system as it is today.

Being valuable, they’re vulnerable to being hunted, and sold for profit.

Being a danger to our eco-system, some would argue that we should exterminate them in attempts to keep our current eco-system in balance.

Questions:

But as we brought back these previously extinct species, do we now have a duty to ensure their safety from extinction, and protection from trophy hunters?

Or do we only have a duty in preserving and protecting the naturally evolved species that we share the planet with today?
