Hard wood floor half or all

My fiance and I are wanting to make my current home more appealing and sell it so we can have a bigger home to have children. So I need your guys opinions to what I should do. The pics are of my house before I bought it and I'm wanting to know if I should put hard wood all the way through the living room or half way where it stops when it hits the paneling and put down carpet where the fire place is
