Drank my midwives brew

Let me start off by saying everyone said this would be the grossest thing ever, yada, yada yada. It really wasn’t bad at all. I was more mentally scared of spending my day throwing up. I used the Tazo “Zen”, tea and that was mainly what I tasted but I also put 3 tea bags in the 10 oz. to ensure that it was strong enough. I drank it at 6 am bc I was wide awake and went back to sleep and woke up at 8 am with a severe contraction that lasted about a minute. I see my OB today at 2:30. So I’ll keep you guys updated if it worked for me.

I also want to say that my OB knows I was going to drink this and was okay with it. Last Wednesday I was 3 cm dilated and 90% effaced. This is baby #2 for me. I’m a nurse and have done my own research and discussed it with multiple peers including 2 other OBGYN’s other than my own and I decided to try it. So please do not comment on this post to lecture me about what is already done. 🙂

Update: woke up to terrible contractions this morning but completely irregular but very strong to the point that I could not talk through them. However, like I said very irregular. Then 2 pm hit, they were 2/3 minutes apart but 30 seconds long. I waited until my doctors appointment. Spoke with my OBGYN and he could tell I was in pain but again not long enough. I was dilated 1 cm more and 90% effaced still. So I went home and they continued, by this point I was at almost 3 hours of this. Then they stopped. I didn’t even notice and ended up taking a nap on my couch. My husband woke me up when he got home from work. Since then they’re still 30 seconds long but irregular again. It’s been 15 hours since I drank it. So I’m going with it didn’t work. 🥺 but i definitely had regular and more frequent contractions more than I’ve ever had before. I know she’ll come when she’s ready. But I’m more than ready to have my baby already.
