Do I need to pump much?

So I plan on breastfeeding for 1 year. I want to pump so my husband can some time feed him during the night because ugh it can get exhausting for me, and also have some milk to freeze to have in case we need it. I’m mostly nursing will I not have enough milk to pump? At the moment I’m only pumping 1oz. That’s after a session of feeding baby. I’m almost 6 weeks PP I feel like I should be pumping a lot more even after a session of nursing.

Try getting hakaa to help catch milk. I am 7wks pp and have pumped once a day on occasion and have about 25oz saved but started using hakaa and can catch 1-2oz per boob at each feeding so I don’t need to pump

Keep in mind that the average mom who is pumping between breastfeeding sessions can express between ONE and THREE oz per pumping session (not per breast, per session). 
It cannot be stressed enough that the amount of milk you able to pump is NOT ever a reliable indicator of how much milk you are producing, nor how much milk baby is taking in. The healthy breastfed baby is usually much more efficient at getting milk from the breast than a pump is.

My lo onlyfeeds off one breast now, so I pump first thing in the morning with the unused breast and usually gets 6 ounces. The rest of the I only get 1

Your pumping will likely pick up in time. breastfeeding is supply & demand.

You will make as much milk as you need for your child. Some people can only pump 1 or 2 oz, others more, but that’s not a true reflection on how much your baby is getting. 
Depending on the pump you have, you can pump the other side while feeding your baby, some people find they pump more. Or perhaps try lactation supplements.
