How often do they do ultrasounds?

I want to limit the number of ultrasounds. I’m from the US. I had my first ultrasound at 6w4days and my next appointment is April 2 and I’ll be ten weeks and five days. I’ll be doing NIPT and maybe figuring out the gender via the blood test as well.  I just want to know when to expect them to want to do these things.

I only got 2. You don’t really have to limit them per se. they’re perfectly safe, but insurance usually only covers the ones that are medically necessary. So in a normal, healthy pregnancy that means 2

I had 3 but only 2 were from my insurance. Most insurances only cover too. I had the first one at 8 weeks with a free clinic just to be sure I was pregnant.

My experience was an early one 8 weeks and one at 20 weeks. Maybe one later on if needed but not if all is going well.

With my last I had one at 6, 12, and 19 weeks. So far I’ve just had the six week one not sure if I’m getting one at 12

My OB says the normal is one earlier on at 8-12 weeks and one at 20 weeks, but I’ll have more done because I’m having twins
