Sound familiar to anyone?

I came off birth control in November and my husband and I have been trying ever since. In January I was told that an US I had showed “follicles suggestive of PCOS” after dealing with a ruptured cyst. I never received an exact diagnosis but I was told to try for a year and see what happens. Four months later and still no period, but Monday and Tuesday I experienced some spotting. It was more similar to CM rather than a period. I haven’t had any other period symptoms but maybe a very mild cramp here and there. Wednesday morning I took a test and fell victim to the dreaded evap line. A test on Thursday(yesterday) morning resulted as negative. Has anyone else had this spotting before with no other symptoms? Does it sound like this could Be implantation bleeding and maybe I tested too early? Is it worth it to test again?
