Extreme nipple pain?

My LO is about 6 weeks... and just yesterday I started getting extreme pain in my left nipple. From the outside, it looks normal. But even when she’s breastfeeding or not, I have a lot of pain in my left nipple. What could this be? Planning to take ibuprofen and wear a more supportive bra so I don’t feel the pain so much. It’s is so painful!
My right nipple is still totally normal and feels fine.

I had this same thing after 3 weeks of normal BF. My right nipple randomly started hurting so badly that I was crying during every feed. Then it happened to my left. I went to a LC and It turned out to be a bad latch. We corrected it and now my nipples are healing. I would go get it checked out by a lactation consultant and see what they say. Could be thrush, but could just be a bad latch that’s causing trauma to your nipple

Nipple thrush... I had it where I had sudden pain out of nowhere and even though my nipple looked relatively normal (maybe it looked slightly more pink) and that’s what I was diagnosed with. Put some cream on them and it cleared up in less that a week... also if it is that and your baby has thrush too (my son had it on his bum but they can get it orally) then they need to be treated as well otherwise it will just stick around
