Amniotic fluid test wrong??

I’m 34w 2d. Today I had a huge gush of liquid (I had literally just peed), and I know it came out of my vagina. I went and wiped and it was completely clear and not mucusy at all, just watery. It happened 5 or 6 more times within 45 minutes so I called the hospital and the labor and delivery nurse told me to come in and to bring my hospital bag if it was packed. My hubby and I went in and they took a urine sample and hooked me up to monitors for baby. The nurse then did the cotton swab test (where they have you cough and if it turns blue then it’s positive).

It came back negative but I hadn’t had any gushes for over an hour and had gone to the bathroom a few times and wiped very thoroughly. They sent us home saying it was bladder leaks. I’ve peed myself a lot over this pregnancy and know what that feels like, this was different, and it felt much faster and more watery than the normal 3rd trimester discharge.

I didn’t have any contractions but after dinner tonight I’ve been having a back pain that I haven’t had before and a couple more gushes. After doing more reading it seems like a lot of times they have false negatives due to it being so diluted or there not being enough fluid.

Just wanting to know if there are any mamas on here who have had false negatives with this test and were sent home. Thanks!
