Recently, I read a news article about signs saying “it’s ok to be white” being put up on a college campus. Apparently this slogan comes from white supremacists, but I don’t know the whole background. At face value, yes... of course I think its okay to be white. But what do you think? Does saying “it’s ok to be white” mean that you’re a white supremacist? Does it have racist undertones? Would saying “it is ok to be black”, “its ok to be Asian”, “it’s ok to be Hispanic” be racist? Does being proud to be the race that you are mean that you are insensitive to other races?
