Breastfeeding for an hour?!

Question

Ok so I’m looking for some guidance...my son is almost 10 weeks old and recently he has been waking up in the morning and wanting to feed/be on my boob for about an hour. I know I’m full in the morning because I can feel it so I don’t think supply is the problem. He does sleep for about 7-8 hours at night but could he possibly be THAT hungry or is he using me as a pacifier? I can tell that part of the time he isn’t feeding, just sucking. Do I take him off the boob when he isn’t feeding anymore?

if hes sucking on your nipple, then milk is going to come out. you'll know when hes using you as a human pacifier, they just like to keep the nipple in their mouth without actually sucking. 
hes sleeping way too long and going without eating for too many hours, hes probably starving. and even though it's awesome that hes sleeping a long time...try waking him up to eat about halfway through his sleep time, and see if that cuts the hour long session down.

Growth spurt, or regulating milk supply.. anyway it is normal at only10 weeks. You are his/here water food and comfort..

Definetly can be just hungry. My son does that before bed. A lot of babies do that once a day. Very normal.

My son is almost 12 weeks and he sleeps 6-8 hours at night. He wakes hungry but no more than he is during the day. That’s not too much time, his body would wake him sooner if he was actually that hungry.

My son is a week old today and does this. Usually before bed. As long as they are sucking and not just keeping your nipple in their mouth, I’m assuming it’s normal. The lactation consultant I saw didn’t seem worried that my son does it

Look up badassbreastfeeding!!!! This is normal and completely okay. Pacifiers were created to replace breast. Listen to your baby. They may just want to rest on your breast for comfort which is how they are designed! It does sounds like too long of a sleep stretch at night though. My son did this at about 10 weeks but fed twice at night. He is still feeding at night but mornings are easier. He clusters in the morning when I have the most milk. Don't think that leaving your babe on is wrong in any way. They will pop off when they are ready!!
