Difference between soother sizes?

My daughter uses the avent soothers and she has the 3-6 month ones I bought recently, but turned 6 months two weeks ago. Is it necessary to go buy the 6-18 month one? What’s the difference?

Definitely switch. You can 100% tell when kids have been using the newborn pacifiers by their teeth. Use only pacifiers that say something about recommendation for oral health

I think the length of the nipple is what changes. The newborn ones are tiny and shallow. 
I actually never changed size from the newborn one and as it became more difficult to use, he stopped wanting it all together around 9 months. Which is awesome because he learned to sooth himself in other ways slowly as it became harder to use. I never had to deal with weaning from a pacifier.
