Our little gentleman arrived 2 weeks early!!! FTM labor story
Woke up on Tuesday to my water breaking around 10PM. (Yes.. you will know it’s your water breaking- I soaked the bed and through a full size towel just getting up) Called my OB who said to come right in. I was admitted but having irregular contractions every 2-7min. Contractions were strong, but totally manageable. Started on Pitocin by midnight. I tried to do it without an epidural, but by 3AM, I was shaking like a leaf and dry heaving with every contraction (which were 2 min apart) and I was only 5 cm dilated. I was still irregular so they kept increasing the Pitocin. I have never felt so terrible in my life. But epidurals are amazing!! I really didn’t want one at first, but it allowed me to get some sleep and I didn’t feel a thing other than pressure! By 6AM he had some decelerations, so Pitocin was stopped and I labored on my own until I was about 10CM. Repositioning from side to side didn’t work, so I had to sit straight up and his heart rate was fine the rest of labor. Pushed for less than an hour and a little after 10AM he arrived weighing 8lbs exactly.

He’s absolutely perfect!!! We are over the moon!!!
