Alcoholic bartending?

If your spouse was a big time addict...switched from pills to alcohol..and was BAD, would you be upset if he started bartending?! He hasn’t had a job in over a year because all he cared about was drinking. Well I told him I was leaving if he didn’t stop so he definitely cut back but he for sure lies and sneaks it. What would you do about him taking a bartending job?

I would definitely be concerned with that job choice. I would make sure he knows my concern and see where his head is at as far as getting a different job. The problem is, you can’t control what he wants to do. He could very well relapse having this job, but he hast to be in control of his own life. You won’t be able to do that for him. So he hast to be making the right choices. I would urge him to set a time limit for the amount of time it will take him to get a new job. Obviously he needs money, he needs to work. So maybe talk about this not being a permanent situation, and reiterate that your original statement about what you’ll tolerate, still stands. And then you just do your part by standing by your word. If he messes up, leave.
