When do you plan starting to shop for baby stuff

Question

I’m 24 weeks pregnant and so far we have nothing for the baby.  My husband wants to wait to see what we get for our shower before we start buying things but I’m not even sure when that will be yet.  When did you start buying things such as car seat, crib, bottles, diaper bag etc.

I got everything she needs. I’m not having a baby shower even though everyone keeps pestering me for one.

We’ve been buying things since the beginning. I’m sure we’ll get clothes and diapers at the shower, but not enough. Plus it’s not like anyone is buying the crib, dresser, stroller, car seat, etc for us. It’s easier to buy those large items one at a time through the pregnancy and not all at once.

My husband and I opted out for a baby shower. (Military family) and we don’t regret it. We’ve been buying things since the beginning of our pregnancy. I’m currently 23 weeks and am completely done buying. I would mostly surf online to find good deals or even go to target and look for random clearance stuff they have! We bought diapers from Costco up to size 2 just so that we could save up space. Clothes since maybe the day we found out we’ve been looking in Burlington. Girl, lol, Carter’s clothes are there for 50-70% off. Burt’s bees usually has sales too. Amazon to subscribe to baby wipes, creams, shampoo etc. 
Sometimes amazon has warehouse deals. Got a rocking chair and the footrest for 108 when originally its like 254 BUT only because box was damaged. Everything else inside was perfect condition. 
Everyone starts at different times but I’m a nester through my pregnancy. I have to see or buy things to make it work. Start at clearance areas. Do online searches. Just find deals and go from there ♥️

I brought bigger stuff  after 12 weeks  as i dont expect people to buy bigger stuff, as we chose to have baby. We brought littke things and had a list that we worked through and if someone asked then we showed them the list and we ticked it off if they said they were getting stuff.

We have a few of the bigger things now at 22 weeks. We got a crib high chair bouncer pack and play and a bunch of clothes that had been gifted to us. Our house is not big enough at all for all this stuff so we’re waiting to get any more stuff until we move in April. My coworkers are wanting to have a shower but there’s 5 of us in my department that are pregnant so I’m thinking I’ll opt out probably

I bought my crib and mattress and just bought a few onsies. I plan to start picking up diapers and wipes. Im also going to buy my stroller and furniture. The rest I will wait until after my shower.

If you buy anything I’d just make sure you’re buying off your registry so it shows up as already purchased. That way you’re less likely to get duplicates. 
I’m 23+3 and we live across from all our friends and family so we’ve have the room painted, crib and changing table set up. Travel system, playpen, bouncing seat, diapers, plenty of outfits ranging from newborn-9 months, diaper genie, baby monitor, his dresser, bumbo, bottles, etc. But because we don’t have a lot of friends and family close by we’ve just had the mindset of having to buy nearly everything as we won’t be able to have a conventional baby shower. We have had some friends and family help out with some of the items we have, for example my parents got our crib and my in laws sent us money to put towards baby items cause we live so far away. But honestly I’d start picking items up now, cause you likely won’t get everything you need for baby at the baby shower and all of it adds up very quickly.

A little bit of everything but no big items yet. We’re waiting on our return to get the big things but my step MIL has offered to get a playpen which will likely be at our shower. I know I’ll likely just get clothes at my shower if anything so I’m getting things as they go on sale. After my shower I’ll just buy everything else outright.
