MIL...did I overreact?

21 weeks pregnant. First child. Expecting a girl.

Visited my husband’s mother and step dad today. My husband walked in first and was greeted by them and rather than greeting me next the first thing my MIL said was, “How is my baby?”

I responded, “How am I?” I didn’t say this in an anger manner. Just matter of fact. Of course, she said that is what she meant - how was I and the baby...

Did I overreact?

This is months of build up over other things she has done being over-obsessive about the baby. Our baby is the first grandchild and first grand-daughter on that side of the family. My husband says she is just excited but I think she can be a bit over excited at times. He’s defended me once (which was a huge relief). This was the first time I’ve said anything for myself.

Later on in the visit she “joked” about wanting to be in the room for the delivery...
