Setting induction date

Destiny

I know it's probably not a common occurance but on the off chance, I'm gonna ask anyway. If you were told from the beginning of your pregnancy that you were going to be induced by a certain week, when did the doctor schedule an actual date?

A little info to help: I am currently pregnant with my 2nd child. My first pregnancy I did not have prenatal care (long story) and ended up in labor at 33 weeks. My daughter was born at 34 weeks due to preeclampsia and severely unmanaged diabetes. When I got pregnant this time, I immediately made an appointment and when I saw high risk doctors at 8 weeks, they told me at that appointment that due to my previous pregnancy and history as a diabetic, they were not going to allow me to go over 38 weeks. In fact, they just want to at least make it to 38 weeks. I see them again Thursday (I will be 26 weeks by then) and I was wondering if it was too early for them to go ahead and set an induction date. And yes, I know every doctor and situation is different so you cant tell me what my specific doctor will do. I also know most womem are against inducing any earlier than necessary. Just looking for anyone who has been where I am.
