Converting from atheist to Christian ?

Question

At the moment I’m an atheist and my bf is Christian (I think. I’m not sure because I’m not too familiar with all the denominations and he’s doesn’t really talk religion with me considering I don’t believe). Anyways for some reason being around his family had sort of made me want to attend church and explore God. I don’t know why I am feeling this way considering I always stood strong with my beliefs. Can anyone share their experience with their conversion. I’m not doing this for him. I’m doing it for me

I converted to Catholicism -unpopular right now I know- a year ago and it has turned my life around for the better. The Catholic Church is the tree from which all other denominations branches off from. I wanted the truth, the history, the tradition. Their RCIA (classes to become catholic) was amazing. Just putting it out there.

I was an atheist, and became Christian.
I was hanging out a lot with a friend whose family was heavily involved in a church, and I started going with her to youth group, and eventually, after a lot of curiosity and research and questions, I found my faith. And I have never once changed my mind. When you feel the presence of God, you just know. And I can never forget it.

You should read the book “Conversations With God” - it’s really very powerful and although I’m not atheist I feel these ideas have me clarity and confidence in what I believe. The premise is that everyone has different truths, which some might disagree with, but I think is beautiful.

I would say definitely explore your feelings. Your heart is telling you something and it does no harm to see where that could go. You’re doing it for you which is the right reason 🙂
I don’t know if I would say I was atheist before, as I think I believed in some kind of higher power, but I never thought on it too much or adhered to any kind of religion. Like you, I found myself having a sudden interest in religion when I met my husband. After a lot of research and personal reflection, I realised I had been missing faith and belief all my life. It explained so many of the things I had worried about for years.

I grew up non denominational I have gone to the Baptist Church Catholic Church Seventh-day Adventist Church a non-denominational church and a Church of the Nazarene I believe that if you go into it with an open mind you will find what it is that you need there are good and bad points to all religions which is why I believe Christianity and God are not the building or the congregation if you can't find your spirituality out in the world you'll never be fulfilled in a building

We all feel called to God. You should read some of the Bible and go to a church service! Christianity is a religion filled with love and acceptance. I’m sure you will be welcomes with open arms!
