Baby's cry

Amanda • Mommy to a beautiful, sweet baby boy 12/31/2018 3/27/2021 👼

Ok so I am a FTM. My baby is almost 3 months old. He has had a difficult start to this life. He was born 1 day late via emergency C-section due to fetal distress during the induction process. He had a low body temperature so he was in an incubator for 4 days but not in NICU. This is something we still battle with today. We have had his formula changed 3 times already. He is currently getting over an upper respiratory infection and ear infection so he just finished his last dose of antibiotics today. He is now on prevacid for acid reflux which we started yesterday.

Here is my question, can you tell your baby's cries apart? Are you able to know what they need by each cry? I don't have that connection with his cries because of all the things he has gone through already. I know the signs of him being hungry but when he cries sometimes I don't know why. Am I the only mommy that has this difficulty? I feel kinda like a failure for not being able to know his different cries.
