Gender Discussion
The thought of having a child soon is raising a lot of questions in my mind... I really do want to be the best and most understanding parent I can be when they get older and start to make decisions.
I grew up in a very traditional Christian home where I wasnt even allowed to care for vanity or flashy clothes. I've grown up to have my own values and I have a huge tattoo on my back and have had my fair share of mishaps along the way, so I do have a lot of experience I've gained to add into my teaching...
However, I still to this day feel as tho I'm not as open to transgenders as I should be. It is fairly new, and still very controversial. I am at a place in my life tho that I feel that I need to understand because it is never going to go away and I'm done being ignorant to it.
With love, I ask that anyone on here who has any kind of advice, insight into parenting a child who makes this decision, etc. Any opinions, harsh and all I really need something that will help me understand the mindset behind it and what it means... Why do people make this decision?
I am speaking from a good place and not anywhere near hate.
*UPDATE*
Honestly, to be fair here. I dont spend my time on websites indulged in the community, so thank you for informing me on the proper term.
UPDATE AGAIN
Well actually, that part I dont totally agree with you on about the term because some people are put off either way. So I'm not going to use either term. How about just saying ...
Idk but that's beside the point.
I'm honestly looking for more insight into the eyes of them...
They dont teach this in school so I wasnt exactly graded on this at any point so please dont make this too hard.
