Any other babies on Zantac?

My son got some at his 3 week checkup when he was 7lbs. I don’t know what he weighs right now but he’s definitely gained weight! Have any of you had to go up in dosage yet? He’s on 1ml and she said it would have to increase as he got bigger, but I don’t know how often that increase is supposed to happen. He’s 6 weeks today. He’s been spitting up a ton, grimacing or crying with his hiccups and coughs, and he fusses at the breast a few feedings a day. And screaming at night.

My daughter is on it, too, .5 ML 3 times a day. Pediatrician says we’ll evaluate upping it at her next appointment. It took forever for her to gain weight... 7.11 at birth and just hit 8.7 at 5 weeks.

My son has been on it since he was 3 weeks, he’s 6 weeks today. They started him at 1ml twice a day then upped it to 1.2ml twice a day. That wasn’t helping so they had me switch to 0.8ml three times a day and spreading the total amount out through the day seems to be working for him! He was having all the same symptoms as your little one.

Thanks guys! I put in a call to my pediatrician. Go figure that my son’s doctor is out of town all week the week he’s in pain 😞 they left a message for someone else’s nurse. I just want him to feel better!

Probably time to up it. My son was started on it when he was teo weeks old. It worked great for a week, then his symptoms started coming back. In that week he had gained enough weight that his dose needed to be increased. We went to the doctor yesterday and he was weighed and she incresed his dose.

My son is on it. He is 6 weeks as of Sunday. To me it sounds like it is time to up the dose. Those are the symptoms my son has when he isn’t on it and the doctor said that once those symptoms return it is time to up the dose. 
It is possible your son has gained enough weight that it isn’t making an impact anymore. My son gained 10oz in 1 week when he went on it. Which I was thrilled about because he had dropped from 87% in weight at birth to 22%. I’m hoping by his two month he will have made it back to 50%.
