Folic Acid and Prenatals! They don’t technically boost fertility if you’re having issues, but they help your body retain the stores of vitamins and minerals needed to get and stay pregnant. Also eat healthy and stay active.

For years I tried not to get pregnant, avoided sex, used condoms, etc. Last year my boyfriend and I decided that we should try. The hardest part was to get myself mentally prepared and of course body. Went to doctor and talked about options and what steps to take. I am going to be 45 in 4 months, mostly they are concerned about my age which I don’t think it’s a big deal. I was asked to do all kinds of tests and I refused, not because insurance or couldn’t afford it. I just thought it’s not necessary. My doctor asked me to at least try getting pregnant naturally for a year before we got into any of the other stuff. I did spend my money on multi vitamin- prenatals, some other fertility boosting supplements and egg quality improvement pills. For lubricant we used pre-seed and got few OPK kits from store. Once I figure out that I ovulate and when we just got to have sex few days before and during the fertile days. The other thing that I have talked to my doctor was asking her to look at my past labs. I took information about family medical history from my mom and other relatives and told my doctor to check/ look for things that are or don’t seem to be in normal #,% etc. My mom has been struggling with prediabetes and has thyroid issues. I also have some salt (iodine) retentions problems. So my doctor discovered that my sugars are fluctuating and we discussed to start a low dose of Metformin. It might seem like a small change but if you and your doctor are willing to work with each other I believe you can get pregnant. 
I have been on Metformin since 03/28/19 and I am pregnant.

I have an insurance with KP but not for infertility. I called my doctor to prescribe me Clomid and she refused. She said I have to find an infertility specialist if I want to get the clomid. So I got a call from the nurse in San Ramon KP after a long conversation, she said that my husband should do the sperm test and other tests requested. The nurse told me as well to do lab tests for transmission diseases which is really funny. I told her you just want people spend more money. I don't have men in my life except my husband so why should I have to do extra lab tests which I don't need them. I am requesting to have only Clomid. THAT'S IT. It was really frustrated 😔. It is simple to have my all lab tests done with normal levels but because I am not getting pregnant, I said the Clomid might help with that. May be what I mentioned is not related, but doctors here make everything a big deal just to have more and more money while ladies are suffering just to be pregnants and have babies. Doctors use this for their benefits. May be you need months to get the Clomid prescription. I wish you good luck.
