Why would a girl say this about my bf?

It was my boyfriends birthday and we had some fun games and stuff. One of them was the audience was asked to describe my bf in one word and then elaborate . So a friend of his described him as annoying. When asked to elaborate, she said that he calls her at midnight and wakes her up all the time.

The girl said that knowing I, his girlfriend of many years, was listening. I felt embarrassed and disrespected. I know that my bf may have called her once or twice regarding Campus homework but she made it seem like it was frequent. Her tone was also inappropriate.

This girl has never ever spoken to me nor acknowledged me. Not ever a hi or hello.

She realized that what she had said had caused a lot of tension when most of the crowd gasped and looked at me for my reaction. I didn’t react at all until after the party where I asked my bf why she made it seem like that and he said that she just generally says stupid stuff. But every one of my friends at that party felt that she did that to be a bitch to me. I was hurt and she made it seem as if my bf calls her every night.

She also asked my bf if I was offended and if she should apologize to me (I’m not sure what my bf told her) but she has not made any effort to apologize to me as yet.

I would like to give her a piece of my mind but what do you ladies think I should do. I would also like if she apologized or something. Please give me some ideas?!!
