Is separation anxiety normal at 4 months?

My daughter will be 4 months old on Monday. For the last few weeks when someone is holding her who isn’t me or her dad, she looks at me, pouts and then screams. Is this normal? My other two kids didn’t do this until like 8 months.

My daughter is 4 months on Friday and is the same. She will let very familiar people hold her and play, like both nannies. But others who she doesn’t see as often she screams her head off. We have tried to sit right next to the person and while holding her she looks and plays with the other person and slowly throughout the day they might touch her hand etc, then she usually is ok with them. I think it’s at this age where they learn about you leaving the room. There is a brilliant app called wonder weeks, it’s great as it shows you what weeks they’re going through changes or “leaps” and explains what they’re learning and how this may affect them, as well as how you can encourage they’re changes.
