Can you be pregnant but get your period?

Question

I don’t know much about this, but could I be pregnant and still have gotten my period?
Update: pregnancy test did come back positive but this seems just like my usually periods so that’s why I’m asking, thanks in advance

You can be pregnant and get your first period as usual. This happens because the pregnancy hormone isn't strong enough to stop the period just yet. Google it, also happened with me and had a healthy pregnancy. It was all early on, that is how the doctor explained it. Depending on how far along, sometimes when it's super early the hormones have to build up for the body to register it.

I had period like bleeding my first 4mo. During one of my Pregnancies (he is now12) & my doctor called it a hemorrhage pocket. I recommend going to see your obgyn as it could be something worse. Good Luck

With my first baby I had a normal period every month doctor said it could happen did an exam and everything thing was fine she was born healthy and on time

No. You can have spotting & bleeding throughout your pregnancy but it won’t be anything like your period most likely. If you suspect you are or were pregnant take a test & if it’s positive monitor the lines if they get lighter it’s a chemical.

You can’t have a true period and be pregnant. It’s physically impossible short of having two uteruses. You can have light bleeding or spotting while pregnant, but it’s not a period.
If you had a positive pregnancy test but are bleeding like a period, you may be having a chemical pregnancy (early miscarriage). You should contact your doctor just in case.

As the last comment said- the only way you’d have your “period” is if you are some of the rare 2% of women that have two uterus’. Which doesn’t happen often.  Some women will experience bleeding and spotting, especially during the first few weeks, or after sex. But not an actual period. A period is the shedding of your uterine lining which is where a fertilized egg embeds, so if you were tl have an actual period you would essentially have a miscarriage.
