Healthy Start Program???
So, I'm a FTM and a young mom, so naturally I'm trying to get involved with every program possible and get as much together as possible before my baby boy arrives. I got a letter in the mail saying I qualify for Healthy Start, which apparently is a Florida program for pregnant women/infants....but I can't find information on WHAT it actually is.
I think I just qualified for it because I got pregnant at 17, even though I'll be 18 when I have him. All I can find is that it's for "high risk" mothers and children, but I don't fall in any income brackets or anything to be considered high risk except for my age. I'm not sure what it actually does though? WIC provides some food for the mother and child, etc. But what the hell does Healthy Start do?
Anyone have experience with this program that can give me a little insight??
