38 weeks

I had my 38 week appointment today and I’m only 1 cm dilated and 80% effaced. I’m due April 18th. This is my first baby. Will I likely go past my due date or is there any way of telling? The doctor said it’s a good start but I know people can stay at a certain dilation for weeks. I’m really hoping I don’t have to be induced, I’ve heard the labor is a lot more painful and slower that way 😭 no rude comments please I’m just curious :)

They already told me they will induce me at 41 weeks if I go over.
