hypothyroidism and pregnancy

Betty

I have hypothyroidism and have been ttc for one year. In January, my TSH levels were 9 (normal levels are below 5 and ideal levels for first trimester are less than 2.5). I changed medication approximately 8 weeks ago and recently found out I am 5 weeks pregnant.

I have an appointment/ ultrasound scheduled for 8 weeks which is the earliest my doctor office would see me. when I got my thyroid tested this month my levels are at 7 which is an improvement but still high. I've googled it (which is always a little scary) and it looks like high thyroid can cause developmental issues and or miscarriage.

has anyone experienced high thyroid levels while pregnant? what was your experience? Do you think I should call the office on Monday and ask to be seen sooner?
