When did you tell the world you are pregnant?

Hi everyone,

I did a pregnancy test yesterday and received a BFP. :-)
The first one I told was of course the father, but we are unsure how to continue.
I definitely want to wait to tell anyone until my doctor confirms the result, and I would prefer to wait until 3 months in case anything goes wrong. My boyfriend thinks we should tell the parents sooner but I doubt they will be able to contain their excitement since it is going to be grandchild #1.

How did you handle this? Do you have any advice for me?

We told our parents the day of my BFP and then I couldn't keep the secret any longer and told the world at 10 weeks... I'm having twins and was SOOOOOO excited I just couldn't wait any longer.

We told a few very close friends right away but won't be telling anyone else, including our parents and family, until after the 12w scan. The waiting is the worst but telling people is the best and I can't wait. But we told people that we knew we'd talk with of something went wrong.

We told everyone at about 7 weeks! Everyone was so excited for us! :)

Told family and a couple of close friends between 6-8 wks (we wanted to tell in person), told my boss at 8w as another coworker is expecting too so he'll need to prepare. Announcing on fb ~13 wks.

I always told right away, with my last I mc and regret telling everyone, this time we only told my best friend and her boyfriend, it makes it extremely hard to tell everyone you lost a baby, it's easier to tell just a few close people to have in case to help you through a loss if it occurs, so until we have our first ultrasound no one else will know.

We waited till 13 weeks to tell our parents, this will be their first grandchild on both sides and as expected they couldn't keep the secret due to excitement

We told family as soon as we found out at 4 weeks. We told friends at 2 1/2 months. We figured, if something did happen, we'd have lots of support and shoulders to lean on. We wouldn't want to go at that alone.
