Is it really that common??

Question

Spending so much time in the TTC apps and message boards might be giving me a skewed idea of testing for pregnancy. How common is it actually to get a BFP 8 or 9 dpo? FRER says it has a 76% accuracy rate at 5 days from period day. That’s about 10dpo on a average 28day cycle with Ovulation on day 14/15. It moves up to 96% accuracy on about 11dpo. But I feel like all I see in this community is people talking about positives 7-9dpo. It can be super discouraging. This morning is 8dpo and got a FRER negative today. Have to keep reminding myself I’m not out and that 8dpo BFP are actually not that common. :/ What’s your experience...what DPO did you get something other than a barely there squinter?

Scientifically, it takes at least 6 days after ovulation for implantation to happen, but it can take up to 12dpo. It takes a minimum of 2-4 days after implantation for the hormones to increase enough to be detected on a pregnancy test. 
For the majority of women, approximately 80%, implantation happens between 8-10dpo, with 9dpo being most common. This means it’s most common to get a positive test around 11dpo.
It’s impossible to get a positive at 7dpo because 6dpo is the earliest implantation can happen and it takes more than 1 day for the hormones to increase enough. Women who believe they got a positive that early more than likely ovulated earlier than they estimated, or were only relying on an app to tell them when their fertile time was, when it was incorrect. Even early response tests take at least 2 days after implantation to detect hcg, and have disclaimers that state it’s not truly accurate until the day your period is due. Most women can get positives between 10-14dpo, but not all of them.

Answer

I tested at 9 DPO and there wasn’t even the faintest line, didn’t test again until 16 DPO one day after my missed period, and got this!
