I reported rape and they gave me the clothes back without examining them

So I reported a rape I didn’t want to proceed with taken him to court because I felt I wasn’t ready so I wanted them to take all the necessary evidence for when I was as they sed I could re open it when I was ready they took me clothes and they hadn’t even sent them off to forensics which was a day before I decided I wasn’t ready they told me they would send me for a medical at a certain time then changed it a again and called me at 1 in the morning to go for a 3 hr medical a day and a half after is it right they gave me the clothes back which contained dna as they sed they don’t sore evidence
