Scared. Could it be an early miscarriage?

I’ve been bleeding for 8 days now, tomorrow it will be 9 days. The bleeding is getting heavier. At first it was brown discharge and lots of blood clots but now there’s also red blood and clots. m sexually active and on the pill, and I skip the placebo pills to not get my period. My mom told me I could’ve gotten pregnant and am having an early miscarriage. I don’t really know what that is, or how to detect it, and I’m scared. I’m in a lot of pain, as I usually am when I’m on my period. Please help
