Do you check your iud strings???

Question

Does anyone check for their iud strings? I went to the doc she said they were in place  but couldn’t find them a week before and am honestly just too scared to dig around up there to find it. Is it really necessary???
Btw I’ve had my mirena iud for about 3 months

I check mine every once in awhile. My doctor told me that eventually they will wrap around your cervix. I’m not sure if that’s true for all of them. I have the kylenna.

My strings are too short I don’t check mine. When I do check I mainly just make sure I don’t feel the iud itself.

I do but in some places doctors don't want people doing it anymore because it makes people freak out and sometimes they'll accidentally pull it out.

I couldn’t really check mine because my cervix is so high. I tried the first month or two after I got it and it helped to bear down some but they were still really high so I stopped trying to check them regularly
