Gestational diabetes

Sam

I went for my 24 week appt with the midwife today and she’s booked me for a fasting gestational diabetes glucose test.

When I looked on the nhs website, it says you’ll be put forward for that test if you fall into one or more of the ‘at risk’ categories. None of them apply to me though, so why I am being tested?

I mentioned my Nan has diabetes, but it says you’ll be tested if a parent or sibling has it.

Any ideas?
