3 ultrasounds during pregnancy??!

Question

Today I went to my OB appointment, I am 13 weeks and 4 days today, I was pretty certain I would get an ultrasound today. 
The doctor only took a urine sample and did a blood lab for the Gestational Diabetes. I asked if we would be doing an ultrasound because the last time we didn’t even get a picture of the ultrasound. 
She stated that they only give 3 ultrasounds during the pregnancy, the first initial appointment, one at 20 weeks, and one at 32 weeks.. 
I have never heard of anything like this, and it really upset me because she’s a lot bigger now than the 7 week picture I already have, the ONLY picture I have. So I have no new picture for my family or friends, or even for my husband and I 😢 I may just be emotional, but it hurts my feelings..

Thats normal. With my first I was only allowed two. Now I'm high risk so I will be having a lot more.

We only get 2 ultrasounds. Dating at 8-12 weeks and anatomy scan at 20. That’s pretty normal.

I got three ultrasounds but most practices only do 2 unless you opt for genetic testing. It’s standard practice .

I had an ultrasound at 6 weeks and 5 days and just saw my midwife today  who has booked me in for my 12 week scan and bloods which she said is where they get the due date from and check for abnormalitys such as downsyndrome. Are you having to wait untill your 20 week scan now?

The norm for my office is a dating scan only if you aren't sure on date of LMP, 12ish weeks to go with NIPT blood work for genetic stuff, and 20 week anatomy. I had a few extra due to monitoring some issues including placenta placement, but the stress of those concerns were NOT worth the extra pictures at all.

That’s normal. with both my my pregnancies they said you would only get 2 or 3 but with my first we had a few more then that when he was measuring small. Then with my second we had a bunch too because I had high blood pressure and they just wanted to check on the baby.

A lot of ob’s do that. I had one at 5,7,16,20 then another at 23,25 (after 20 weeks I was considered high risk) now I get one every week (26 weeks) until I give birth. Everything before 20 weeks was regular for my office.

i Had my first ultrasound at 6 Weeks , Second At 10+2 , 3rd At 13+4 , 4th At 19+5, 5th Around my 20 Something week, 6th At 32 weeks & 7th at 36 lol. 
i Only had a bunch of them because i've had 2 miscarriages in the past & my Ob wanted to make sure everything was good & baby was growing well. 
But most ob's will only give you 2-3 Ultrasounds.
