Had a visit with my doctor & he told me I’m a finger tip open

So I had my 36 week check up today, I’m 36 weeks & 4 days, my doctor checked for dilation and he said that I’m a finger tip dilated and I dont really know how far I’m dilated, Idk if that means I’m 1 cm, all he said was that I’m a finger tip dilated, then he started smiling & said his head is really low to where he can feel his head & he told us to pack our bags and be ready, which gave me the impression that I can have him any day now, what do you guys think this means? Any advice helps
