Advice with fertility help!

So after 3 1/2 long years of trying to get pregnant on our own my SO and I finally sought out help from a fertility clinic. I have a 7 year old from a previous relationship and my cycles are very regular so we thought maybe my husband had issues and wanted to just find out if we even could have a child of our own. Which basically means we put this off way longer than we should have mostly because we didn’t want to hear bad news.

After each getting tested, a semenalysis for him and bloodwork and a ultrasound for me we definitely didn’t get the answer we thought we would.

We just met with the fertility doctor yesterday and according to her we are both “fertile”. Absolutely no issues at all on my husbands side, lots of mobile, good shaped spermies there. As for me, the nurse had already put me on synthroid about a month ago when my blood work came back that I have hypothyroidism. But shockingly enough everything else is great. Doctor said I have lots of eggs and they only found one small cyst that is not blocking my Fallopian tube so she’s not worried about that.

The last 2 cycles I used an opk for 10 straight days during what should have been my fertile window and never got a positive result confirming that I was due to ovulate.

Has anyone else had any type of similar experience? My mind is still spinning trying to figure out how after over 3 years we could fail to get pregnant after both appearing to have no major fertility issues.

I start on clomid tomorrow and then I go in on the 19th for an ultrasound to check how many eggs will drop, plus I’m doing the ovidrel shot to help things along as it seems my body does not like to ovulate. For the first 3 months we are trying natural insemination...so I’m really hoping for this to all happen quickly now that we are getting that extra “help” and my thyroid seems to be under control now.
