Can a Muslim (me) get a tattoo?!

Question

So I’m a revert but I know I should’ve gotten a tattoo before I decided to convert. 
I’m a Pacific Islander and we islanders get tattoos all the time that are meaningful. I really want to get one representing my culture. I already have a tattooists that I can just contact any time and get it done (I already know what design I want). But I’m feeling bad that there’s a possibility I might not be able to get it because it’s haram to draw on your body “unless you had the tattoos before converting”
So, does anyone know if it’s still possible to get one?!! Or is it just a 100% NO?!
Any advice/opinions would be much appreciated

I'm not sure how you don't know what your own religious beliefs are? But if you are Muslim, it is 'not okay' to have tattoos and piercings if you want to follow everything in that religion. Or you can just do what you want and not worry about it if you are not very serious about it

I know tons of Muslims with tattoos.. they are all from Morocco though so I don’t know if it’s different

Before converting, a tattoo will be okay but after you convert, than getting a tattoo is considered haram. All depends what sec of Islam you are though. Sunni having a tattoo is haram where Shia is not haram. As long as it not faces or holy names or quran verses
