I am so upset 😭

Ro

I am so frustrated! When I scheduled my first appointment with my OB, I was under the impression I was getting an ultrasound and the girl at the front desk said we should schedule it out a bit so it was at 7 weeks 4 days. To my surprise, all I got was a pap smear and blood tests- and not even a pregnancy test! Also no dos & don’t for first time pregnancy and the doc was rushed and didn’t even answer all my questions and half laughed at one. 😒

He said they wouldn’t be able to see anything on an ultrasound or hear the heartbeat because I was too early. He said they don’t do ultrasounds until 11 weeks so schedule your next appointment 4 weeks out.

Tomorrow I’ll be 11 weeks 4 days and when his assistant just called for my appointment reminder, I made sure and said “and this time we’re doing an ultrasound, right?” And she said NO we’re just doing a tummy check and listening to the heartbeat. Which is ok.. but I have a doppler at home and have heard the baby’s heartbeat almost every other day now.

I called back to try and speak to the doctor directly but instead only got to speak to his assistant again. She said it must have been a misunderstanding and that I should have one by 15 weeks. I also asked about NIPT and she said they do it at 15 weeks once they know how far along I am. And I said “by ultrasound?” Ugh 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’m trying not to cry I’m just beyond frustrated and this is not how I imagined my pregnancy to be. We haven’t announced we’re pregnant yet because we were waiting to at least SEE the baby or use ultrasound pics.

Any advice? Should I try and find a new doc? Should I pay for an ultrasound place? I’m still going to my appointment tomorrow and riding it out to see what the doc says. But I was already told on the phone “well I guarantee you will not have one tomorrow because our sono tech only comes twice a month.” 😩
