Glider or rocker?

Question

How necessary is it to get a glider? I have heard of many people not using theirs. Would a regular rocker be fine? I dont want to end up spending the money and not using it.

I used a rocker all the time with my Singleton.  With my twins I bought a rocker recliner.  I mainly used it to sleep in when one would be fussy at night.  If you have the space it’s nice to have something in the nursery but I’m not getting a lot of use out of mine and my twins are 5 months.

I only used mine to sleep in at the end of my twin pregnancy. Once they were born it was just in the way and after about 4 months I finally donated it to a thrift store.

I had a glider with my first baby that we didn't keep, and now I have a rocking chair- neither one would really be big enough to comfortably sit with twins, I don't think, unless they're lying on your chest. Definitely not big enough to tandem nurse in. So it depends on what you want to use it for. I'm leaving ours in the 2yo's room for now.

We didn’t have anything until they were 5 months old (they are 6.5 months now). Then we were gifted a swivel glider. Can spin completely around and glide at the same time. Even if you don’t want them to grow dependent on being rocked it sure does help when they are sick or teething and need some TLC. Wish we had it from the beginning!
