Anybody done amnio?

Anybody done amniocentesis? I'm thinking about getting it done due to risk of cystic fibrosis. What was your experience? Be honest

I had one with my last pregnancy and wouldn't hesitate to do it again if this pregnancy needed it too. The procedure itself was over pretty quickly, the pain was quite sharp (like most needles!) but it wasn't for long and I knew I was doing the right thing for my baby. Rest afterwards, so important. Ask your doctor how many times they've done the procedure and what their success rate is. My doctor told me that in 12 years if doing the procedure only one had ended in miscarriage and that made me feel much better. I had no adverse effects following it! Good luck xo
