What baby products are a waste of money?

What products have you bought/recieved that you didn't use and why?

I thought wipe warmers were a waste a first. They're not. They save your frazzled nerves at 3 AM when your baby doesn't scream from a cold wet wipe hitting its bottom out of no where. Warm always trumps cold with babies!!

I've been told to say no to:
1. Wipe warmers (they dry out the wipes on the bottom of the stack and make them useless)
2. Bumbo seat (baby's legs May to too fat to fit and makes it useless)
3. Diaper genie (use a small trash can with a foot pedal and scented trash bags)
4. Too many pacifiers (some babies don't like them at all and some are picky and only take to one style nipple so don't buy 50 packs of one type of pacifier before baby gets here)
5. Bottle sterilizers (I was told to use glass bottles and a dishwasher rack with my dishwasher on sanitize mode)
6. Too many toys (I have 1 or 2 hanging toys for reaching/grabbing practice but some babies just aren't interested)

I think whether a wipe warmer is a waste or not depends on the parent and the child. My daughter was a furnace and preferred the cold. If we thought the wipe was too cold we held it in our hands for a minute first. Our 98.6 body temp is a free wipe warmer. Is it a necessity? No. Everyday moms all over the world care for children without one. Is it a nice luxury that is helpful...to some yes. Get the necessities first and IF you can afford it get the other stuff. I always recommend moms to do it that way. Necessities are bottles, bibs, clothing, diapers, wipes, etc. wipe warmers are newer to the market and we went well over 3000 years as a human race raising children without them.

I'm surprised to see changing table on here so often. We loved ours. We got a play yard with a changing table attachment this time though.

I had two nursing pillows and they never worked for me! It was just so awkward and I ended up using a soft feather pillow. I also thought that any pants without the snaps down the legs were just worthless! You change a newborn soooo often it's just way more work than it's worth to take the pants completely off and put them back on every single time. Zippers and snaps are just sooooo much easier.

Wipe warmers ARE a lifesaver. New borns don't like to be naked and they sure as heck don't like cold wipes on their bums. The warmer I have has a pad at the bottom you put water in and doesn't dry the wipes out at all. Also a diaper genie is amazing because new born breastfeeding baby poops really stink. 
The only thing that I got that hasn't been used yet is his actual crib and that's because I Co-sleep. 
Bath toys will be more used when he can actually play with them, (he's 24 days old) and he's started taking a pacifier but I wouldn't suggest buying those in bulk until you're ready to give them to your sweet pea because you don't know if they will even take it. Swaddler blankets are a must. I know this is the opposite of what you asked but hey, all the help you can get right? Good luck Mama! ❤️❤️❤️

We used our changing pad up until our daughter was potty trained. So much can easier for changing but the cover is a waste. We bought one this time because we didn't like the print on our new changer but when we change baby off it will come so we don't get pee or poop on it. Wipe warmer-waste. Our daughter was changed in 50* weather in the back of our SUV with wipes that we kept back there. Didn't phase her a bit. I have heard it helps with boys but I've changed plenty of boys without it before. It's a luxury not a necessity.

Changing pad and covers. I have a 3.5 month old and never once have I used it haha. But to each their own. Also I didn't buy one but lots of friends have said wipe warmers are a waste. They complained they dried out the wipes. Idk personally though.
