I had my membranes swept twice with my last pregnancy. Everything I’d read beforehand said it was only a little uncomfortable, so I was pretty surprised when i found it as painful as it was. Definitely wasn’t expecting it to hurt as bad as it did. First sweep didn’t have any results. Second sweep was after being admitted to the hospital in labor

For some reason, I didn’t have mine stripped til I was already in labor. Lol. I guess they used it as a means of speeding things along. I was already like 3 or 4 cm when they did it AND I was hooked up to Pitocin. All it felt like at that point was a strong and swift tugging sensation.

I had 3 sweeps with my son, they caused contractions but they didn't help put me in labour, I went in to labour on my own 4days after the 3rd one. an they say if it's Gona work itl work 1-2days later. mine was painful especially the last one cz the guy was huge an had big fingers, I almost wanted to punch him. best thing u can do is relax as much as possible cz it's worse when ur tense.

I had extra fluid and big baby(9lb 13oz) and had a sweep at 39 weeks. Nothing happened. Got induced past my due date.

I had it done multiple times in my 2nd pregnancy. My water broke 2 days after the last time I had it done.. My contractions didn't start up enough for ny doctor's liking so I had to get Pitocin... I absolutely hate Pitocin so I do not plan on having my membranes swept again unless I make it to my due date.
