Trigger shot?

Hey everyone so my husband and I will be doing our first iui next month. I don’t know what the trigger shot is? What is it ? My doc hasn’t mentioned anything about it but also i don’t have trouble ovulating so maybe that’s why? Help!?

No I don’t take anything. I tried clomid for a couple months and made things worse my drying up my cervical mucus. My husband now takes clomid though

Trigger ensures ovulation. 
If you ovulate on your own (are you using stim drugs?) Then you'll likely use an OPK and call for an IUI when you surge.
